Pathlight Seniorcare Services was birthed out of a calling to serve the elderly. God opened Orrett’s eyes to the growing need for eldercare as he sat by the bedside of his ailing grandmother. Meanwhile, Marva struggled with the ongoing challenges of finding adequate caregivers for her blind, elderly mother, while living hundreds of miles away. A year later, she became restless, as she sensed a calling on her life — a calling to touch lives and to be a part of something bigger than herself.
As she persisted in prayer, God gave her a verse in her devotionl: “Do not cast me away when I am old, do not forsake me when my strength is gone”(Psalm 71:9). In that moment, the restlessness was replaced with a spark and a firm conviction that God had called her to work with seniors. Several days of research later, the Lord led her to pursue an MBA in healthcare administration at Indiana Wesleyan University. Through this journey she was alerted to the great need for professional, dignified, and compassionate care for the rapidly growing population of older adults. A CDC report projects that 1-in-5 or 72 million Americans will be 65 and older by 2030. Pathlight Seniorcare Services has the privilege to exist at this momentous point in history. Our goal is to be used of God to build an army of compassionate caregivers to support this special population to age confidently and successfully in the comforts of their home.

Orrett L. Bailey, Ed.D., Th.M, MBA
President
Orrett brings a pastor’s heart and a wealth of leadership experience to PLSS. He is a visionary, who thrives on dreaming big dreams that can only be accomplished by a big God. He is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Th.M); Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (E.d.D.), and the University of Alabama (MBA). Orrett has served in the ministry as a youth pastor and senior pastor, as well as executive director of Hope Ministries, a community outreach para-church ministry. He has also served in academia as an administrator and adjunct professor at Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham. Orrett is committed to ensuring that the mission, vision, and values of PLSS, to serve the elderly, are fulfilled at every level of the organization.
Marva Bailey, MACE, MBA
Vice President of Client Care
Marva serves PLSS with the conviction that God has called her to minister to the elderly. She is passionate about providing professional, dignified, and compassionate care for seniors. Marva is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (MACE) and Indiana Wesleyan University (MBA, Healthcare Administration). She has ministered in several capacities, including Christian Education Director and trainer as well as Women’s Ministry speaker. She loves working with people, touching lives, and making a difference for now and eternity. Marva is committed to ensuring that PLSS’s unique brand of holistic care~~physical, social, and spiritual support~~is disseminated by a team of compassionate caregivers to fulfill the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
